Level 1 Lesson 5 - Useful Tagalog Phrases


Hello again! A new lesson has come! With more words than before! Here are some usual words or phrases used in Tagalog :

Good morning. = Magandang umaga.
Good noon. = Magandang tanghali
Good afternoon. = Magandang hapon
Good evening. = Magandang gabi.

Add "po" after to make it formal.

Example:
Magandang umaga po. = Good morning.

I love you. = Mahal kita.

Merry Christmas = Maligayang Pasko
Happy New Year =  Manigong bagong taon
Have a nice day = Magandang araw sa'yo!
Pleased to meet you. = Kinagagalak kong makilala ka.
Please, come in. = Tuloy po kayo.
Take care. = Ingat ka!
Wait. = Teka.
Wait a moment. = Sandali lang.
I don't know. = Ewan ko.
Don't mention it. = Walang anuman.
Later. = Mamaya

Help! = Saklolo!
Fire! = Sunog!
Stop! = Para!

"Para!" is usually used when riding a jeepney and you want to tell the driver to stop.
